Emma 3.0

I love my new bike! Shipping was super fast, packaging was excellent and it was easy to assemble. It’s comfortable for my back to be able to sit in a more upright position and it’s super cute! Love the bright headlight, turn signals and loud horn. I had to remember to warn people I was on their left a lot farther away or the horn would scare them if I was too close because of how loud it is. Getting to the batteries is also easy. My only wish is for a front basket that doesn’t move with the handle bars so my dog can ride in front. My old bike had this capability and now my dog is miffed he has to ride in back instead of having a front row seat! 😄

Out the box the bike was simply amazing. My previous bike was the Annioki AQ177 which was a long range beast but I had no idea what I was missing when it came to suspension quality, handling, reliability, and power. My AQ177 broke constantly and I've dismantled and repaired everything except the pedals and steering stem. I haven't done anything on the Emma 3.0 except brakes, tires, and lube in 2200 miles.

Out the box:

The first thing I did was take it on a pedal spin around the block after assembly while the battery was charging. I was amazed I could hit 15 Mph without turning it on. The single gear arrangement was not just good but actually better than having 7 gears on my prior bike. Once I got it charged and did some speed runs I felt it glide over speed bumps and accelerate like no bike I'd ever ridden. It was so smooth and stable it actually made me worried I'd become too complacent since my previous bike demanded constant attention to remain in control.

Riding with a passenger:

After this upgrade I knew I couldn't go back to the Annioki. Once my girlfriend got on the back she couldn't go back either. She never felt safer as a passenger or more secure despite the relatively high seat for a 5'2" individual. She said plainly "I'm never getting back on that other bike again".

On my first run down battery full to empty I did 7 miles solo and the next 30-35 with a passenger. The most remarkable thing happened when the battery ran out a few miles from home with my girlfriend. I didn't notice the battery died while I was already pedaling without throttle to conserve power and didn't even notice the battery had completly died. That would have been impossible on my Annioki which is simply unridable with a passenger without power. We would have had to walk 2 miles.

All in all with my 190lb and her 115lb we managed about 40 miles. Since then we took plenty of long trips like a 26 mile ride to the Bronx from Queens one way. Top speed with the two of us topped out at 32 mph on flat ground sustained which was adequate for flowing with traffic on speedier roads of Long Island not slowed by the 25mph NYC speed limit. The ability to go fast on some roads keeps you safer than being a slow obstacle resented by aggressive drivers. Emma 3.0 hits the mark just about right for the NY metro area.

By the way if you intend to ride this bike for extended periods you might want some additional seat padding. It really doesn't take much. My passenger grabbed a small towel and folded it over once and that was enough to moderate fatigue on long rides. Since then I got a 24 inch inflatable pad that fits nicely over the stock 2 person seat. You'll see it in the pictures. With that I've ridden in excess of 8 hours and no more complaints from my passenger.

Suspension:

The bike suspension upgrade was also amazing on the pot hole riddled streets of NYC. The long travel on the front and back meant no more bottoming out. I'd go over speed bumps for fun at speed and even catch some air while seated ending in a buttery soft landing. I've never made a single adjustment to the suspension that flawlessly went from single to double rider without leaving me or my passenger craving for anything more.

Cargo capacity:

Aside from the ability to carry a passenger, cargo capacity was a key concern and this bike does very well with its rear rack. I wanted the ability to go from two person configuration to food delivery without the intermediate step of removing the delivery bag setup. The Emma allowed me to do this for the first time.

I opted to get non Roll-Road cargo extension rack to mount on their rear rack. I had recently ordered a 62L delivery bag that wouldn't fit anything they sold. Initially it worked out well but began to sag under the weight. I loaded upwards of 60 pounds on my extra large rack extension after some months it began to sag.

I ended up augmenting the original rack mount with a steel plate I got from Home Depot and it's been flawless ever since. It was a fairly easy fix requiring me to cut the plate to size, drill two holes and JB weld epoxy to the steal plate to the original rack mount. The original racks weight limitations with the two person seat attached is something that should be taken seriously. The single person seat provides the rack more support so it's less of an issue in that configuration and probably wouldn't require modifications for the loads I was carrying. You can see my giant rack extension in the pictures.

Reliability:

Nothing really bad to report on reliability but I should mention all maintenance Ive had to do. I did my first brake pad change at about 300 miles. The tires have been fantastic and long lasting. I only got my first flat last week at the 2200 mile mark from a staple on the road. I also recently replaced rear brake fluid, because it was acting funny.

About 20 miles out the box I did get front brake rub noise which was fixed by brake/roto...

This bike really holds up the range at top speed and great power on the hills. Well enough to be in street traffic.

Let me start off by saying when I first ordered the my Emma 3.0 it was shipped almost within hours. I received the bike within almost 2 days. The packaging was really well put together so that the bike would not get damage at all. The assembly video on their youtube package was very detailed explaining the instructions. I was riding that bike within less one hour from when I opened the box. All tools were provided. As for the bike, well it has not disappointed at all. I must say that I am impressed on two things! Number one being the range and number two being the speed and power it hold during hills. Overall i personally think its a great bike for quick or even long rides.

The Roll Road Emma 3.0 e-bike has been a fantastic choice for me, especially on days like today. The crisp, sunny weather made for a perfect ride. The open road and clear sky set a great mood, adding to the freedom and ease this bike gives me. Its smooth, comfortable, and handles rougher terrain effortlessly. With reliable battery life and convenient storage, this bike is worth every penny. Highly recommended for anyone who wants style, performance, and a great ride, no matter the day!

My husband and I love our Emma 3.0! Its suitable for all kinds of roads, whether they are smooth or bumpy.
With fall coming, were excited to enjoy the beautiful colors while we ride. The bike is easy to handle,riding through parks and neighborhoods while the air is crisp is something we both cherish.
Its very comfortable to ride too. it feels sturdy and safe. Overall, We have so much fun riding!
